Hi, my name is Stephanie Dorfman. Halima Williams and I are fundraising on behalf of Khadeeja Abdul-Jabbar. Khadeeja is a beloved daughter, sister, friend, teacher, and single mom to her beautiful daughter. She is one of the most incredible people I've had the opportunity to know--a rare combination of artist, musician, and intellectual who shows up, always, with both deeply grounded fierceness and abundant love. Khadeeja has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and our mission is to make sure she has ample financial resources to support herself and her daughter, for whatever needs arise (medical costs, household costs, complimentary therapies, groceries, etc), throughout her recovery period.

While we are still awaiting a treatment plan, our aim is to ensure that Khadeeja and her daughter have enough financial security to be supported for a full year so that Khadeeja can focus her energy on healing. As we know more, we will be posting updates, at Khadeeja's discretion, to help keep everyone who is supporting her aware of her process and progress.
