My name is Keyshawn L. Ward, and I am a rising sophomore at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. I am the first to go to college on both sides of my family. My major is Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, and a minor in Political Science.
A little about me: my father, Corey Reeves Sr., passed on February 23, 2017, and my mother is not in my life. My grandmother, Ms. Judy Reeves, my faithful supporter and champion, has raised me since I was seven years old, along with my twin brothers from birth, who are now 23 years old.
I attended schools in Oakland, California, and San Leandro, California, graduating from there in June 2024.
My journey to Morehouse College began in June 2017. My father had passed in February 2017 from a massive heart attack at age 41. When I graduated from fifth grade that year, my grandmother Judy took my brothers and me on a tour to Atlanta, Georgia. We visited Morehouse College and had a guided tour. After that experience at Morehouse College, I was so inspired and decided that was where I wanted to go.
On August 14, 2024, my dream became a reality. My first-year tuition loan has been paid by my paternal grandfather, but going forward, he will be unable to help me financially, and I am unable to obtain my own student loan. I have no one else who is able to help me financially either.
I am committed to continuing and graduating from my dream school, Morehouse College. I believe, “A winner never quits and a quitter never wins.”
I am seeking help from you in the form of a scholarship or donations; anything that you can help me with my continuing education at Morehouse College. I would be happy to meet with you virtually to discuss any help that you can provide to me.
Sincerely,
Keyshawn Ward
