Support Key's Journey to the Fire Academy
Donation protected
Key is a student in the Environmental Career Worker Training Program (ECWTP). Throughout his participation in this program, he has decided to become a firefighter. He is on track to enroll in the Fire Academy upon completion of the ECWTP, but a barrier is obtaining his driver's license. Covering the cost of driving school is a challenge as he is unable to work while enrolled in the program since it runs from 8:00 am-4:00 pm daily.
Key is most deserving of this kind of support. He has persevered through tremendous challenges in life, without the social and financial safety net that many young people experience. Since starting the program, he has earned recognition with the "Consistency Award," which recognizes trainees who show up as their best selves day after day. At the age of 19, he has little support, but he is determined to accomplish his goals. Giving him this small boost will be a huge help to get him there.
We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the cost of his TIP ($33.25), driving class ($450), driving test ($40), and his license ($33.25). Anything additional raised will be given to Key to help him cover living expenses while he is in the program.
I will provide updates on here as Key obtains his TIP and driver's license, completes the ECWTP, and enrolls in the Fire Academy.
