On January 3rd, my life changed in an instant. I suffered a deep laceration to the muscles and tendons in my lower left leg, which required a five-hour surgery to repair. Now, I am left with a vacuum and a boot on my leg, unable to walk or work. As a full-time security officer, my job requires me to be on my feet for eight hours a day, and it breaks my heart that I can’t provide for my two kids, Sophia and Darius, the way I always have.
Being a single parent has always been challenging, but this injury has brought a new level of difficulty and sadness. I was just released from the hospital and am now faced with the reality of not being able to return to work for some time. I am the only one paying the bills and feeding my kids, and now I’m struggling to keep up with everything on my own. The emotional toll is heavy, but I am doing my best to stay strong for Sophia and Darius.
The funds raised will help us cover our living expenses—rent, bills, groceries, and other essentials—while I recover and work toward getting back on my feet. Food donations are also deeply appreciated as we get through this difficult time. Your support means the world to us, and I am deeply grateful for any help you can give. To everyone who supports us, I pray and thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.
