Support Keyana's Journey to Independence

Hi there, my name is Keyana. I’m 17 years old and am diagnosed with epilepsy, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, autonomic dysfunction, chronic migraines, and other disorders. These disorders have been life-changing and can lead to death if not handled correctly. I have been in and out of hospitals over the past month, some stays being as long as 6 days. I’ve had lots of tests done to me, just about any you can think of. I now am on daily medications and have rescue medication for my seizures. I still have seizures often and I pass out due to my other disorders. This has caused me lots of anxiety and fear of leaving my house. I have lost most of my independence and have to be watched all day long. I am unable to drive, work, or be alone. Recently, my medical team has recommended a service dog to help ease the pressure on my family and me. Unfortunately, my family is not able to afford training my dog (the dog you see in these photos) due to paying off medical bills we have. My dog Diva is the best dog I could have ever asked for. We fostered her when she was 5 weeks old and adopted her since. She has lived with our loving family for 4 years now and takes as much care of me as she can. Recently, my mom and I took Diva to a service dog trainer for an assessment to see if Diva would qualify to be a service dog. She did amazing! They told us Diva would be a great fit for a service dog. But once we were given the pricing, we knew it wouldn’t be possible. My family hates to ask for help financially, so I decided to come here on my own. Having a service dog would help me tremendously; it also can save my life and allow me more independence. I ask for your generous donations to help our family pay to get Diva trained and certified. It would mean a ton to my family and me and most importantly, it would help us all.
