I'm reaching out to you today on behalf of my dear friend, Mariesa Portmann and her husband, Kevin Portmann, a remarkable individual who recently endured a life-altering bike accident. Kevin, a celebrated Ironman, has always approached life with unwavering determination, passion, and love. However, on March 12, 2024, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was involved in a tragic accident while pursuing his passion for cycling.

As a result of the accident, Kevin sustained severe injuries including a broken clavicle, two fractured ribs, a shattered scapula, and a bruised lung. Despite the immense physical and emotional toll of his injuries, Kevin's resilient spirit remains unbroken. He is determined to not only overcome this setback but to return stronger than ever to the sport he loves.

Kevin is not just a professional athlete; he is also a devoted husband, a doting father to his 10 month old son, Atlas, and a cherished coach to many. His dedication to his family and his athletes is unparalleled, and his positive impact on those around him is immeasurable.

While Kevin does have insurance to help cover his medical expenses, the costs associated with his treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing care are significant. Additionally, due to the financial strain of Kevin's inability to work during his recovery, the Portmann family could use a helping hand.
