My name is Kevin Lawlor. I'm 54 years old. On January 13, I had my ninth spinal surgery in my neck to finally relieve 27 years of pain. It was a success; however, in less than 24 hours, I had to have a second neck surgery to save my life due to internal bleeding in my neck. I had a massive hematoma that filled up my neck and crushed my spinal cord. Unfortunately, the way this was found out was I went completely paralyzed in front of nurses, doctors, and including my wife. It was horrific. I woke up two days later without being able to move anything from the neck down. It is now February 3, and I'm still learning how to walk. I have physical therapy and occupational therapy coming every other day. I've never asked anyone for anything, but I do need to make sure my family is taken care of at least temporarily. I don't know if I'll ever be able to work again. I don't know what is permanent and what's not. My hands don't work correctly, and my legs don't work correctly, but I'm determined no matter what. I'll do whatever I have to do to get better. Please, anything that you could spare would be most greatly appreciated. God bless.
