On February 14, 2026, my nephew Kevin Desatoff was involved in a severe accident that changed his life forever. He shattered C6 and C7 vertebrae, a broken rib that punctured his lung, and a severed spinal cord, leaving his legs paralyzed. Despite these devastating injuries, Kevin is currently recovering in the ICU at Fresno Community Hospital and remains in high spirits. We are deeply grateful for his life and the use of his upper body, but the road ahead will be long and challenging for him and his family.
Kevin’s family will be facing overwhelming medical bills, the need for ongoing rehabilitation, and the costs of specialized equipment. They will also need to make significant home improvements to ensure their home is accessible and comfortable for Kevin as he adapts to his new circumstances. Your support will help ease the financial burden and allow Kevin to focus on his recovery and rebuilding his life.
We are asking, first and foremost, for prayers for Kevin and his family—for peace, comfort, and strength. If you are able, we would also be grateful for any donations to help support Kevin through this journey. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in his life, and we thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
Update-
Kevin was transferred to Craig's Hospital in Colorado which is an intense rehab and research Hospital that specializes in spinal chord injury. We just got the incredible news that his spinal chord is in fact not severed but is damaged. We are so hopeful for his future and just ask for continued prayers for a miracle. Thank you so much for the love and support.
