Support Kevin's Journey to Overcome Addiction

Breaking Free from the Cycle of Addiction

My name is Kevin Oshima, and I am sharing my story with a heavy but hopeful heart. My struggle with crystal meth addiction began when I was just 17, introduced to the drug by someone much older. By 21, I had turned to IV use, and since then, my life has been overshadowed by pain, shame, and the relentless grip of addiction. For years, I’ve felt trapped in a cycle that has taken so much from me—my joy, stability, and sense of self-worth. But through it all, the recovery community has shown up for me in ways I never thought possible. Their unwavering support has given me hope and strength to believe that change is possible.

Building a Foundation for Recovery and a Brighter Future

Thanks to a generous scholarship from a private donor in Florida, I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to attend a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)—a $30,000 program fully covered. However, the scholarship only covers the cost of the program itself, which means housing, food, and transportation expenses are not included. To make this transition possible, I am seeking your support to cover these critical needs during my first two months of recovery. While attending PHP five days a week for eight hours a day and transitioning to IOP four days a week for four hours, I’ll be focusing entirely on healing and rebuilding my life.
My ultimate goals are to join the Navy and go back to school to study psychology, using my journey to help others find their way. With your support, I can take the next step toward breaking free from addiction and building a future filled with purpose and hope. Thank you for believing in me and being part of my recovery journey.

1st step

I go into rehab tomorrow Wednesday jan 8 at 8:00 am and I will in Haymarket for a total of 30 days the reason for me going into rehab is because I want to build a strong foundation before I move down to Florida.

2nd step

Around feb 7 or 8 I would be getting out of Haymarket and the goal is by feb 9th I will on a flight to west palm beach Florida and when I land I would be picked up by my house manger Len tops from there I would be taken to the sober living faith over fear and get settled in.

3rd step

Next I would start PHP (partial hospitalization program) at a private institution in Delray Florida, a typical day in the program like PHP I would spend up to 8 hours day on up to five days a week engaging in various aspects off addition treatment. I would also attend NA meetings and I will get a sponsor once down there.
