This GoFundMe has been created to help a good friend of ours through a trying time.

A few weeks ago, Kevin Mertens heard the word no one wants to hear from the doctor when he was informed that he had kidney cancer.

Things have progressed rapidly already, since that time, and plans are now in motion for Kevin to begin treatment on October 2nd.

Along with the cancer, other parts of his body have become weak and become subject to various infections and complications that have already landed him in a hospital bed.

Being that he will start aggressive treatment and is already weak, sick, and feeling the effects of the cancerous cells in his body - Kevin is out of work and unable to go back to working until he is in a physically stronger state.

The funds raised will go towards the various trips to Reno, specialists, care, medications, and cost of living expenses that don’t just stop even when it seems like life as he knows it has stopped itself.

Kevin is a father, son, brother, boyfriend and friend . . This diagnosis came as a shock, but we know that he will have a lot of support behind him as he fights.

Being able to donate in a monetary sense is appreciated and we are all more than thankful for any financial support he will be given - however, we would appreciate everyone keeping Kevin in their thoughts and prayers at this time.
