Not sure where to start…… my name is Kevin and I play in a few bands in the NYC area some of yall may know me from that.

Recently

I transitioned my entire life to live in my van to beat expensive living fees. Decided to leave for a trip across country to write/play music all over the USA with my best friend. The hardships endured to get to this point were tough but that’s not the point of the story.

I was privileged enough to get a van to live in with all my life savings and try to start this dream of a seeing the country and playing music.

Unfortunately this afternoon 10/18/2025 we were involved in an accident which led to the van flipping. We hydroplaned almost head first into a semi truck and drove off the road avoiding a head on crash. The van flipped along with all of our life possessions in the vehicle. Damage of our possessions also took place including a computer and TV still accessing damage as it was dark and started rain.

The van appears totaled currently and won’t start/turn over amongst all the damage we’re waiting for an update / answers from an auto mechanic and then body shop. Possibly will need to go to urgent care after the adrenaline wears off.

We are a really far way from home and don’t know what else to do but ask for help.

If the van is totaled ultimately I lost my home and a decent amount valuable possessions today amongst the towing bill and mechanic bill.

NY insurance is really expensive and I only had bare minimum coverage with insurance. I’m pretty screwed and really just could use a miracle right now

I just wanna finish this off by saying I personally hate doing this especially during these crazy times and would rather see the money go to those affected by war etc.
