My name is Kevin Castillo and I’m currently battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the second time in one year. In late 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Throughout 2024, I went through 6 chemotherapy treatments and 25 radiation sessions. I went into remission in November of 2024 but, just 5 months later, the cancer returned and now I must battle for my life all over again. Even more chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other procedures are all I have to look forward to currently. This disease has put my entire life on hold and in total uncertainty for the future. My medical and life expenses are piling up as I am out of work once again due to this illness. I am also still putting myself through online graduate school to become a full-time librarian. Completing school assignments during this time has been an uphill battle but, through God’s grace and strength, I’ve been able to persevere despite the extreme side effects of chemotherapy. However, paying for school is a totally different beast. Without work, I can’t fully pay for school while also paying for my essential life bills as well. I’m simply asking for a little help in staying afloat while I fight this cancer and pray for a positive outcome to all of this. I honestly never thought I would get cancer at 29 but, rarely does fate call upon us at a moment of our choosing. I’m 31 now and I would like to live to see better days in the future, Lord willing. Get a career, get married, have kids of my own, live a good life for the Lord, that would be swell. My doctors at Loma Linda University Medical have been a blessing and are doing their best keep me alive and cure me when all is said and done. Until then however, life will be a challenge as nothing is guaranteed. Alas, any help would be greatly appreciated at this time, thank you!
