Support Kevin's Battle Against Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
I know you're busy, but this is very important, and I won't sugarcoat it, we need your help.
A few years ago, my brother suffered a near-fatal heart attack. A GoFundMe page was created then because Kevin and his wife, Kathleen, faced massive medical debt. With your help, Kevin was eventually able to care for the many bills. Our thanks still cannot be overstated.
Yet, this past October, Kevin was hospitalized with unexplained spinal and rib fractures. His hospital and subsequent nursing care lasted over a month, and on November 22, 2024, Kevin was diagnosed with Stage II Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer that develops in plasma cells in the bone marrow. In healthy bone marrow, normal plasma cells make antibodies to protect your body from infection. In Multiple Myeloma, plasma cells are transformed into cancerous cells which then grow out of control, crowding out the normal cells that help fight infection. On January 6th, Kevin started chemotherapy and now faces a long and difficult road ahead to recovery.
This diagnosis has left Kevin debilitated and without the strength and mobility needed to continue to work. Although he was employed, he has been placed on disability since his October hospital stay, and his income was reduced. In a few short weeks, he will be left without any income or benefits, leaving both Kevin and Kathleen in a terrible financial situation.
With the help of Kevin's family, we're leaving no stone unturned in order to find resources, help, and assistance for Kevin's future, but it's not enough. We again turn to GoFundMe and your collective and generous compassion to help reduce and relieve the incredible pressures of his mounting medical debt. Will you help?
On behalf of Kevin, Kathleen, and my entire family, I have set up this GoFundMe page with a goal to raise $15,000. This cash is very much needed for Kevin and Kathleen and will help them manage immediate needs, pressing bills, and the much-needed items just ahead. Your generous support can help to brighten this dark chapter in their lives. Any amount you can give would be very much appreciated.
Lastly, please feel free to forward and share Kevin's story with others and on your social media apps.
