Kevin Soles has always been the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Growing up, Kevin wore number 53 on the football field and was known as the hardest hitting 53 around. Now, this stroke is the hardest thing that has ever hit him. On October 3rd, 2025, Kevin and his son Jake were unloading their truck at camp, excited for opening day of deer archery season, a weekend they both looked forward to every year. Suddenly, Kevin began experiencing symptoms of a stroke. He was quickly flown to UPMC Hamot, where he received emergency medication, but unfortunately, it was not effective. Kevin then underwent an emergency procedure to place a stent in the affected artery. When the first stent broke, doctors had to remove it and place another, adding to the complexity and risk of his situation. After the procedure, Kevin spent time in the ICU with little to no movement. As he stabilized and began the long road to rehabilitation, he and his family were met with unexpected insurance denials and mounting medical bills. Despite these setbacks, Kevin’s determination never wavered. He chose to continue his rehab at LECOM SNF, paying out of pocket for both his care and his stay, all in pursuit of regaining his independence. Now, after 155 days in a hospital setting and of hard work and recovery, Kevin is finally coming home. While he still has a long journey ahead, he is eager to return to his community and continue making progress. Kevin’s family, the Soles and Berarduccis, have been by his side every step of the way. But the financial burden has become overwhelming. Donations to this fundraiser will help cover Kevin’s medical bills, ongoing rehab costs, and the expenses of adjusting to life at home. Kevin has always been there for others, and now he needs the support of his loved ones and community more than ever. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in Kevin’s recovery and help him regain his independence. Thank you for standing by Kevin and his family during this difficult time. Let’s show the world what it means to be #solesstrong.
Thank you,
Jake & Alexa, Linda, Marcia & Family
