Sometimes life puts you in a position where dignity is something you cannot afford. You can make wise choices by working hard and developing yourself into a trusted and highly respected employee. You can live a frugal life, choosing not to drive new automobiles or run up debt by living outside your means, but then tragedy can strike and there is nothing you can do but to ask for help. Many of us have been there, and that’s where Kevin, his wife, and three kids now find themselves.

Spinocerebellar Ataxia is a nasty, genetic, degenerative condition that separates the brain from the spinal cord, for lack of a better description, leading to speech issues, loss of motor function, cognitive impairment, and it can be fatal, as it twice has been with the Weaver family.

Kevin’s father, Ray Weaver, passed away in 2001, just shy of his 50th birthday. Kevin’s brother, Jason Weaver, passed away on May 29th at the age of forty-seven, delivering a horrendous case of déjà vu and an ominous sense of foreboding.

Their financial reserves already exhausted due to medical, custodial, and legal fees associated with caring for Jason, Kevin is now responsible for the $5,174.44 in current and delinquent property taxes on Jason’s 50-year-old house in Universal City. Please consider donating.
