We are co-organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our amazing friend, Kevin Jordan, with the permission of his family. I’m Stephanie Napolitano, the wife of Kevin’s best friend and college roommate, Joe, and I’m teaming up with Meredith Pirro, whose husband, Matthew, is also one of Kevin’s closest friends and former teammates. Together, we’ve watched Kevin, his wife Sam, and their one-year-old daughter, Rory, face the unimaginable challenges of kidney failure with incredible hope and courage.
Kevin’s journey with the disease began in 2010, when he was just 18 years old – a gifted baseball player recruited to play at Wake Forest University, with dreams of one day making it to the MLB. That same year, he was diagnosed with kidney failure, which was ultimately triggered by a rare autoimmune disorder known as ANCA vasculitis. Since then, Kevin has undergone two life-changing kidney transplants in 2011 and 2021, both made possible by the unwavering generosity of selfless living donors.
Unfortunately, over the past year, Kevin has battled multiple new viruses that further damaged his kidney, and in April 2025, he was officially diagnosed with kidney failure for the third time. Kevin immediately began daily dialysis treatments, but recent complications have led to several hospitalizations, and now, his heart is under serious strain. His doctors have urged that a kidney transplant happen as soon as possible, making the family’s most urgent need the search for a kidney donor.
Alongside this critical search, Kevin and his wife, Sam, are facing significant emotional and financial strain. Kevin has had to step away from his work as a teacher to focus on his health, while Sam is a full-time nurse, balancing a demanding in-office job, caregiving responsibilities, and raising their young daughter, Rory.
Now, it’s our turn to help Kevin and his family. Your support – whether through a donation, sharing this campaign, helping to spread the word about the search for a living kidney donor, or offering a prayer for healing – will make a huge difference in their lives. Through it all, Kevin has continued to inspire everyone who crosses his path. He is the kind of person who puts others before himself - a loyal friend, devoted husband, loving father, and an amazing coach - whose quiet strength shines even in his hardest moments.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to help reduce the financial stress of their young family while they focus their efforts on finding a new kidney for Kevin. Your donations will be used to cover hospital bills, copays, child care, meals, travel expenses for testing, and costs associated with treatment supplies, wherever the donor may be located.
