Help Support Kevin through Cancer Journey

On December 22nd, while visiting family in Northern California for Christmas, Kevin was admitted to the hospital for what he thought were possibly gallstones. Instead, doctors discovered a tumor in one of the bile ducts from the liver. Kevin was flown to the nearest Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa, where he underwent multiple emergency procedures, followed by a major surgery in an attempt to remove the tumor. However, once the surgery was in progress, it was determined that the tumor could not be safely removed. He has been diagnosed with stage 3 biliary duct cancer and will begin 6 months of chemotherapy in early February. His prognosis is anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, depending on how effective the chemotherapy is.


Kevin and Sandy have decided to remain in the Santa Rosa area during treatment to be centrally located to their children and grandchildren, to be close to the doctors and surgeons who have been with them on this journey from the beginning, and to avoid crowded Southern California treatment centers and hospitals. They hope to find an apartment in Santa Rosa as a more long-term solution, and any funds raised will go to them to help offset housing costs, food, and medical expenses so that they hopefully have one less thing weighing on them while they walk through this trial. 


While the financial aspect is a tangible way to support them, we understand that not everyone may be able to give financially, especially during this time.  Most importantly, please be lifting up Kevin, Sandy, and the rest of our family in prayer during this difficult time, knowing that God is in control and that He is good.
