Update: 11/4/2025: Abby, Cindy and I went on Sunday to visit Kevin. He was still able to listen and correct our stories if we were wrong, he still smiles; and he told us he loved us when we left. Cheryl said they have an OPEN DOOR meaning if you want to come see him, come, anytime day or night. She doesn't want anyone to feel they didn't get to say good-bye. Cheryl is providing the best care; Kevin you are lucky to have someone that loves you that much.
Update: 10/24/25: Kevin's condition has declined, he is now home on Hospice. Please keep Kevin and Cheryl in your prayers.
If you want to go see him please reach out to Cheryl or Susan
Kevin Kemp, our high school classmate, has always been known for his humor, kindness, and that ever-present smile. Many of us remember him delivering pizzas in his mom’s station wagon, his long hair blowing in the wind, or racing at the dirt track—where he met his wife, Cheryl. They were recently married, and their love story began at the Putnamville dirt track, a place that brought them both so much joy.
Now, Kevin is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. Diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an inoperable brain tumor, he is unable to work. Cheryl, his devoted wife and only caregiver, has also had to stop working to care for him full-time. Every month, they travel from Terre Haute to Indianapolis for Kevin’s treatments, which adds to their financial strain. While Kevin’s employer has helped with some expenses, there are still many urgent needs—groceries, gas for medical trips, and medical costs that aren’t covered by insurance.
This fundraiser is about more than just bills; it’s about giving Kevin and Cheryl some relief from the overwhelming stress they’re under. Your support will help lighten Cheryl’s load and show them that their friends, classmates, and community are standing with them during this difficult time.
