Kerrie's Pancreatic Cancer Fight
Many of you know Kerrie as the proud mother of six beautiful children, a devoted wife, a compassionate friend and neighbor, and a beloved educator in our community. Her love for her family comes first, but Kerrie has always been first to offer support to anyone in need.
Now, Kerrie is the one who needs our help.
Last summer, Kerrie was diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer. She immediately elected the most powerful treatment, enduring heavy chemotherapy while still caring for her family and continuing to teach online. She asked for nothing for herself - because that's not who Kerrie is. Many in her church community and our area provided meals for the family, and these loving gestures and outreach meant so much.
Unfortunately, the staggeringly costly treatments that once slowed the spread of the cancer are no longer proving effective. Kerrie, whose entire existence is dedicated to her faith and service to others, faces a difficult path, and her only worry is for her husband and her six beautiful children.
We cannot take Kerrie's - or her family's - pain away, but, with your help, we can alleviate some of the financial burden that causes her and Bill so much worry. Donations will be used for essential living expenses and for the children, comforting Kerrie as the family faces loss of income and increasing costs of medical care and travel to Duke.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Kerrie and her family during this incredibly heartbreaking time.
