Support for Kerrianne and the Brougham Family

Hi, this GoFundMe page is about Kerrianne, her beautiful family, and a diagnosis of (multifocal invasive lobular carcinoma) breast cancer.

If you know Kerrianne, you'll know she is determined and independent and not one to shy away from life's struggles (of course - she IS half Maori with a inbuilt warrior!) but this recent life challenge is TOUGH going.

Kerrianne had a single mastectomy on Valentine's Day this year, after detection of a 6.1cm tumour. Complications lead to further surgery. She is currently undergoing four rounds of TC chemotherapy which is painful and exhausting. This will be followed by radiation and multiple reconstruction surgeries in Sydney. Endocrine therapy will then be required for several years to help prevent re-occurrence.

Friends, this is a HUGE undertaking that will take many months (at least) to walk through, requiring endurance, much faith and continued support. There is no doubt that Kerrianne and Ian will pull through, but of course, any long term health crisis puts major and significant pressure on relationships, families and households - financially, logistically and emotionally. In addition, Kerrianne and Ian still have two children at home and they are working hard to keep life as normal and stress free as possible.

Although Kerrianne has good and bad days, and will return to work when she can, the reality is that she is unwell and very depleted from the treatment and cancer itself. She needs to protect her immunity, plus she has a mammoth schedule of appointments to attend. These are stressful and time consuming for both of them.

Financial support at this time will provide vital and necessary funds to navigate this season so much more effectively and easily. Kerrianne and Ian themselves have a true heart for community and contributing to others, but it is not always easy to accept help when you have always worked hard and met your own needs!
