In April 2025, Keri went to several doctors and the emergency room after some ongoing hearing and balance concerns. She received an MRI and after a few follow-up appointments, she was diagnosed with a Vestibular Schwannoma brain tumor. The tumor is growing on her vestibulocochlear nerve, which connects the inner ear to the brain, and it needs to be removed.
Keri will undergo brain surgery in San Diego, CA in September. The surgical team in CA is experienced, and while the prognosis for recovery is very positive, the expenses are going to be tremendous.
Keri and her family will be responsible for covering the cost of whatever medical expenses are not covered by insurance, flights, hotel stays, and other accommodations while in CA. Some of the biggest out of pocket expenses will be a year's worth of physical therapy (only a few months will be covered by insurance), hearing aids due to hearing loss from the tumor and its removal, and frequent follow up MRIs.
Keri has twin 3-year-olds that will remain in NH. Coordinating care for the twins will contribute to Keri's financial burden.
If you know Keri personally, then you know she is a very private person. Keri rarely, if ever, asks for help. If you are able to contribute, even a small amount, to Keri's medical expenses, it would be so impactful. All money raised will go directly to Keri and her family for the expenses mentioned above.
