Helloooooo,

February 17th Kenzie went in for brain surgery, a standard procedure to coil the aneurysm in their brain.

What was supposed to be a 4 hour surgery and one overnight in the hospital turned into 5 days in the hospital, 4 of which were in ICU. Two, almost 3 days of Kenzie being nonverbal/incoherent.

Post hospital they are now at home but are currently doing 5 appointments a week with Mary free bed for therapy(occupational speech therapy etc).

They've made huge strides in the past two months but as you can imagine life is catching up.

Their insurance didn't offer short term disability which would be really helpful for them to focus on recovery instead of worrying about bills. They currently have no PTO left at work and their savings are drained.

They are trying to to reintegrate at work but that's a slow process and they can only manage a few hours of small tasks here and there. They also cannot drive for 6 months due to a seizure they had during an MRI when they were in the hospital.

Kenzie is such an amazing selfless person. They love being independent and would love nothing more than to be back at it with their regular life.

But healing isn't linear and takes time. Right now we don't know when they will be able to fully go back to work and pierce safely again.

It would be ideal for them to be able to fully recover without added financial stress.
