Hey! I’m Lindsey and my daughter is Kenzie. Kenzie started having extremely high heart rates and chest pains at the age of 10. Doctors could not figure out why her heart was doing this, so we just kept living life. In October of 2023, however, Kenzie had COVID. Before the virus, she could run multiple 5Ks per week with JROTC. Within two weeks of having COVID, Kenzie could barely walk a mile, stairs were extremely difficult for her, and she began to have multiple system symptoms (asthma, chest pains, tachycardia, low blood pressure, numbness and tingling, etc.). We started going to multiple doctor’s appointments to get some answers.
Through all of those appointments, we figured out she has Dysautonomia with POTS being the most prominent variant. Along with that, she has Asthma, Vocal Cord Dysfunction, Anxiety, Depression, Small Fiber Neuropathy, and a few other diagnoses.
We are asking for help with training her dog Cooper. We want to get Cooper trained as a Service Dog. He will be able to calm her when she’s anxious, alert her to her high heart rates and low blood pressure, and even help her keep space in a crowd!
We think this will be very beneficial for Kenzie and will help her greatly!
