My friend Kenzie had to buy a car to take a job helping people with severe mental illness. In Missouri, registering a car requires the payment not only of the registration fees but a personal property tax.

She has been working two jobs to save the money to register the car, but a number of emergency expenses have prevented that from happening.

She is driving on expired temporary tags and unable to afford the registration. As a trans woman, she is very concerned about the possibility of being pulled over and becoming a victim of police harassment.
