Fighting Breast Cancer & Fighting to Stay Strong
Hello, My name is Kenya the HEALER… As many of you know, I have been battling HER2-positive breast cancer, a journey that has tested me in every way possible. I am a passionate physical educator, health coach, mentor, and advocate for health and wellness. I have dedicated my life to inspiring and empowering everyone to stay active, build confidence, and develop lifelong healthy habits. Teaching and supporting others has always been more than just a jobs my calling, my joy, and my way of making a difference in lives daily.
Beyond the classroom/ health coaching, I am a fighter, a believer, and a woman determined to overcome every obstacle thrown my way. A resilient warrior indeed!
From undergoing chemotherapy which I’m almost done (praise GOD) and beginning to prepare for my upcoming double mastectomy, this road has been filled with challenges both physically and emotionally but my faith haven’t changed and GOD is still GOD.
One of the hardest parts of this journey has been missing work of course and time with my students. As a physical educator, I love inspiring and empowering kids to stay active, healthy, and confident. Being unable to be there for them has been heartbreaking, but I know that regaining my health is the best way to return stronger than ever. I’ve been blessed with my encore team to allow me to speak with them through modern technologies so hearing their voices have been a blessing.
With surgery approaching after I complete chemotherapy, the financial strain of medical expenses, recovery, and lost income continues to grow. I am reaching out for support to help ease this burden so I can continue to focus on healing and reclaiming my life.
Any donation big or small will make a difference in this fight. If you are unable to contribute financially, I truly appreciate your prayers, encouragement, and shares to help spread the word.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love and support. This journey is tough, but I am tougher. I am determined to win this battle because it’s already WON…
Thankful for my angels and ancestors who’s been here before me battling this nasty dis-ease but grateful that they paved the way for me to fully understand this process and the healing that comes along with this and I can say, I’m growing from leaning on them and my earth Angels ! I lost my first cousin Joi to Brain and childhood cancer. As a child I didn’t understand what cancer was but losing her at the age of 13, (she was only 5 when diagnosed and passed at 9years old) I was truly confused and hurt by cancer, NOW I’m walking gracefully with her by my side and many others !
But in her memory, I do an annual toydrive to local children’s hospital and local children in the Hampton roads area and been blessed to support others out of state of Virginia as well.
God is gooooood and I pray God blesses you all in support of me truly
Again my name is Kenya, & CAN-cer doesn’t define me! I’m So grateful for this blessing for it has turned my life around. If there’s anyone battling this, my sincerest message to you is to stay positive! Your mind is 100% of this battle, if it had not been for my mindset, I don’t know where I would be! Keep your faith and continue to trust in God….
