On August 20, 2025, my nephew Kentrell Gates was on his way to work in Phoenix, Arizona when his life changed forever. At around 4am, his car tragically flipped, leaving him pinned in the wreckage for five hours before help arrived. The accident left Kentrell paralyzed from the waist down, and he now faces a long road of recovery, including hospital stays, rehabilitation, and the emotional challenge of adjusting to a new way of life.
Kentrell has always been an outgoing, caring, and family-oriented young man. He loves riding horses and playing basketball, and he was working toward becoming an electrician so he could help his community. His energy and kindness have touched everyone around him, especially his mom and siblings, whom he is determined to make proud. This accident has deeply impacted his daily life and future plans, but his spirit remains strong.
Our family is raising funds to help cover the overwhelming medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, medications, medical equipment, physical therapy, home modifications for accessibility, and daily living support. Every donation will help Kentrell focus on healing and adapting to his new circumstances. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser will help us reach others who may be able to support Kentrell’s recovery. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this challenging time.
