Hello

My name is Danielle and I am trying to raise money for my Dad who just recently went through a second brain surgery. With permission from my Dad Ken and his wife Mary, I am setting this up for them in hope they can catch up on bills, mortgage and hopefully medical bills due to this causing them both to miss out on work. With them in Utah and me stuck in Florida this is the only way I could figure out how to help them.

So when my Dad finally got his CT to confirm Parkinson’s, Him and his wife drove home and within an hour they got a call to take him back to the ER ASAP.

The neurologist informed them that he did not have Parkinson’s. What he had was hydrocephalus possibly caused by the enormous aneurysm in his brain. They immediately sent him to SLC via ambulance. His wife arrived in SLC early the next morning. They were told he would have surgery for the hydrocephalus that same day. They cut a hole in the back of his skull and inserted a drain through the right side and into the left side where it could drain both lobes.

Ken (my dad) was able to walk the very next day unassisted. His wife said "He was slowly coming back to himself as well which has been a huge blessing! He doesn’t remember much from the last month and a half. " The Dr. told them his brain needed to heal for at least a couple of weeks before they could surgically stabilize the aneurysm so they were sent home for the time being.

Two weeks later they got the call to go back up to SLC for Ken’s aneurysm surgery. His wife can’t drive at night so they spent the night near the hospital as he had to be there at 6 am. Unbeknownst to his wife, he snuck out and got coffee with cream.. yupp that's my Dad lol

Sooooooo they couldn’t do his surgery for at least 6 hours. Luckily they didn’t send them home. About 6 pm he finally went into surgery.

They filled the aneurysm with coils then put a stent in below it to keep them in. Maya (my step sister) kindly took her mom (my dad's wife Mary) driving during the surgery to visit two of the mortuaries she works at. Mary said It really helped.

Surgery was successful. They stayed the night in the neuro ICU and he was released the next afternoon.

Words can’t express how relieved we are that he is still with us. His recovery is slow. Severe headaches and nausea. It’s been 2 weeks and he still can’t bend over without extreme pain. He desperately wants to go back to work. Mary said "I feel helpless watching him want to be back to normal but it’s slow going. Prayers appreciated."

We sencerly appreciate any help you can provide, whether it's a donation or simply just sharing this with others.
