Hello,
Let me start by saying thank you for caring. There are times in life that we honestly need help from others and this is one of those times. Kenny, a husband, father, son, brother, friend, and grandpa, always has a big smile, just like his big heart. He always made us laugh even during his illness. I was visiting just a couple of weeks ago and this tiny baby cat followed Kenny around. It was so funny because the cat was lying out in the yard and from looking at it, one wouldn't think it was even aware of Kenny. Then Kenny got up and this tiny baby cat jumped up and ran to follow Kenny into the house. I share this because you see, Kenny impacted everyone and everything. You see Kenny impacted me many years ago when he came to my home for a yard sale. He asked to use the restroom and I took him into the front room to show him some pictures. When he saw my son's picture he was on the verge of tears and asked how I knew him. I told him that was my son. Kenny asked where he was and I had to tell him my son was dead. Kenny said that he had been looking for my son and hadn't been able to find him. This was a very emotional moment for the both of us and from that day on Kenny became a son to me and his wife is like my little sister, we are family. So I am honored to help Kenny and his wife.
Kenny has that debilitating disease of diabetes. He has suffered with it for years which has caused him to lose sight in one eye, so he had surgery to have that eye removed. He then went on to the SC School for the Blind and continued to strive. After some time, Kenny is now having to do dialysis three times per week. Through all of this, Kenny's wife has been by his side and has traveled to be with Kenny during each challenging time.
Just recently, Kenny had a doctor's appointment and it was discovered that he had gallstones so it was recommended that he have his gallbladder removed. The removal of the gallbladder pulled on that main artery and now that has to be replaced. At this point, the doctors said Kenny's condition was critical and he could die. You see, Kenny also needs a liver and a kidney transplant. Initially, they had a plan to replace the main artery but decided that Kenny would have the best chance of survival at the Transplant Institute in Georgia. The next day, Kenny was transported by Air Medical to Piedmont Transplant Institute with no knowledge of what had transpired. We are praying and believing for a liver and kidney so that Kenny can once again live a life full of love and purpose. It's a long road ahead for Kenny's health and healing to come to fruition. But we do not lose hope and have faith that Kenny will once again live on and enjoy life.
We are asking for your prayers and please consider a contribution to the GoFundMe. Your generosity can help them through this difficult time. Every donation, big or small makes a difference.
