Support Kenny's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rachel, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for your support for two people who have meant so much to me and to our small-town community of Farmerville, Louisiana — Gina and Kenny Garris.

Gina has worked beside me since the very first day we opened our gym. She’s more than an employee — she’s family. Over the years, her dedication, kindness, and unwavering spirit have touched the lives of everyone who walks through our doors. All four of her children have also worked with me at one point or another — this family has been a cornerstone of our little gym and a blessing to our town.

Her husband, Kenny, is a talented architect in Ruston. He’s known not only for his professional skill, but also for the quiet strength and integrity he brings to every project and every relationship. Together, they’ve raised a beautiful family and poured so much love and service into our community.

Then, earlier this year, their world was turned upside down.
Back in the winter, Kenny came down with the flu. But something wasn’t right — he just couldn’t seem to recover. After weeks of check-ups and unanswered questions, he was rushed to the emergency room in Monroe around March 1st. The situation quickly became critical, and he was transferred to New Orleans, where doctors delivered devastating news: Kenny had an aggressive form of leukemia.

He spent a month in the hospital, undergoing intense chemotherapy and receiving numerous transfusions of blood and platelets. By the grace of God, he’s now home — but the battle is far from over.

Kenny is currently awaiting a bone marrow transplant in Jackson, Mississippi. He will have to remain there for at least a month during this difficult process. In the meantime, he and Gina have been making exhausting trips back and forth to Jackson for chemotherapy and follow-up care, as well as frequent visits to Monroe for labs and imaging. Neither of them has been able to work during this time, and the emotional and financial strain is growing heavier by the day.

As someone who’s known and loved this family for years, I wanted to create this GoFundMe to help lighten the load — to give them a bit of breathing room in the midst of so much uncertainty. Your donation will go directly toward medical bills, travel expenses, and everyday necessities that are piling up while they fight this battle together.

Even the smallest gift will make a difference, and your prayers and support mean more than words can ever express. Thank you for helping us show the Garris family that they are not alone — not now, not ever.

With deep gratitude,

Rachel
