Hello Friends

My name is Kenny Rogers.

Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges. I have recently been diagnosed with severe hip joint arthritis, and my hip is causing me constant, intolerable pain. I have surfed and played volleyball for as long as I can remember. Playing sports is in my DNA. Unfortunately, the surfing that I love has taken a toll. I am sad to report that all my physical activities have ceased. My hip has given out, and I require a cane to walk all the time. After consulting with my doctor, he recommends a new hip replacement. I would appreciate your support. As a result of this disability and job loss, I am struggling financially to keep afloat.

I am now currently an unemployed lighting technician, known as a “Gaffer” in the film and television industry. For the past 14 years, I have been a lighting director for the San Diego Padres television broadcast crew. In the summer of 2023 Bally’s Sports in San Diego went bankrupt, and I was caught in the storm of layoffs. I have a strong work ethic and I have been looking for work, but my hip pain and limited mobility have made it incredibly challenging.

My condition has forced me to take a step back from work, adding financial strain and mental depression to an already difficult situation. I have limited savings, no pension, and I don’t own a home. People who work in the media/arts/entertainment industry understand we face difficulties finding work as we get older. I am using this platform to reach out to the compassionate souls who may be reading this. I believe it's ok to ask for help.

I recently started looking for a new business as a caregiver at senior living facilities. I have always been a fun-loving person. I've always love being in the spotlight. I want to be an entertainer for seniors, impersonating Elvis Prestley with karaoke music, costumes, and Elvis’s memorabilia. I am branding this campaign “Elvis Wellness”. I plan to educate seniors on their health and wellness at senior facilities. However, at the current time, my hip pain prevents me from pursuing this goal.

With a heavy heart but a strong spirit, I am asking for $25,000 to cover my medical expenses. Your generous contribution will help to alleviate the financial strain, and it will give me the chance to focus on my health and well-being without the constant worry of how I will navigate the situation.
