Kenny and Amy mean a lot to so many of us in Quincy. As they face some really tough news, I wanted to create a space where our community can come together to support them with medical expenses and time off work during this journey.
Over the past few weeks, Kenny received some incredibly difficult news. Doctors discovered masses on his pancreas and liver which the doctors believe are very likely cancer. This week, Kenny will be undergoing biopsies of each mass, and in the coming weeks they will learn more about his diagnosis and what the best treatment plan will be moving forward.
He has already been through countless appointments and tests, and while there are still many unknowns, Kenny and Amy are taking things one step at a time. No matter the outcome, this will be a long road ahead for both of them.
Kenny has lived in Quincy for 19 years and has been a familiar, friendly face to so many of us, especially through his time at Quincy Drug and Quincy Pharmacy. He’s always been someone who shows up, works hard, and genuinely cares about the people around him. We have watched him literally give his last dollar to help someone in the community countless times. He is always happy to support someone working toward a goal, and we are hoping to do the same for him!
Amy grew up in Quincy and is the kind of person who will stand by you no matter what. She has been through a lot in life, but through it all continues to be a strong, steady presence for everyone she loves. Now, she’s focused on being there for Kenny through appointments, treatments, and everything that comes with this journey.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease some of the financial stress they’re facing — to help with medical expenses and to give Amy the ability to take some time off work so she can be there for Kenny when he needs her most.
