Hello! I’ve been very hesitant about starting a GoFundMe for ourselves, but sometimes you need help and you don’t always have a lot of family to turn to. Kenneth works 7 days a week to keep our family afloat and he is having a very rough time knowing he’s unable to work. I hate to see him worrying and stressing when there’s nothing I can do.
Most of you know that Kenneth fractured his leg while on vacation. Upon returning home and getting into the doctor locally, it was discovered he was in renal failure. He was hospitalized for 6 days and was extremely sick. He had severe diarrhea with nausea and vomiting. He was admitted and was treated with fluids and multiple medications to get that under control. His fibular fracture was surgically repaired on the 21st and he was discharged on the 22nd.
After getting home, he was still extremely ill, so on the 25th we were back in the ER. He was given fluids and nausea meds and sent home. Three days later, he was admitted to the hospital again for fluids and IV medications because he hadn’t been able to eat a bite in 2 weeks. He was in the hospital for another 6 days. They did further diagnostics where (1) he was diagnosed with salmonella and started on medications for that and (2) his gallbladder needs to be removed as well. For now, they have the salmonella under control, but he has to see a surgeon next week regarding removing his gallbladder.
His short-term disability hasn’t kicked in yet due to a hold-up with the paperwork at his place of employment and the insurance company. I am on permanent disability and do not work. The orthopedic doctor expects him to be out of work for 6-8 weeks and if you know me, you know I’m having severe anxiety over this whole situation. The doctor/hospital bills are ROLLING in and we still have more medical issues to attend to. If anyone can help, no matter the amount, it would be so greatly appreciated. BELIEVE ME, we understand if you can’t help! If you can’t help monetarily, please share and send good vibes or prayers our way—whatever it is you do! We do have a few things we can sell to try and keep us afloat, but there are some things you just hate to get rid of if you can have other options. I have been in contact with a couple of local churches and have been to the food pantry. Thanks so much for reading this looong post.
***How the funds will be used:
-He’s been seen by at least 6 doctors while in the hospital, that’s not counting his ER visits
-He has LOTS of follow up appointments and treatments still to come, including gall bladder removal. We’d like to try and keep up with some of those bills
-Utilites!! It’s hot as hades and I won’t survive without electricity!
-Car insurance-this is a payment they will NOT work with you on and they will cancel you if u can’t pay your monthly payment, that worries me a lot.
-groceries-we have us and our furkids to care for, we don’t need anything fancy, just enough to get by.
