KENNEDI STRONG!
We are here to tell Kennedi's story. It all started in December 2025. Countless headaches, vomiting, trips to the ER, doctor's appointments and Migraines were the diagnosis. Finally, 2/19/26 her ophthalmologist discovered Kennedi's brain was swelling. Her doctor immediately contacted her neurologist and demanded she be sent for an emergency MRI, something was discovered on the MRI that couldn't be diagnosed immediately. Multiple spinal taps release pressure off her brain, but still no final diagnosis. We ended up at Northwestern on 2/24/26 and Northwestern doctors made a diagnosis of a rare brain tumor/cancer in 2 days. That was the fastest they said they could diagnose. 1 in 10 million people are diagnosed with this type of cancer. Kennedi immediately underwent 10 rounds of radiation because her condition was declining quickly. After 2 weeks of ICU 3 weeks of neuro care, brain biopsy and 2 weeks at Shirley Ryan Rehab she made it home on 4/11/26. Her oncologist appointment and follow up MRI are scheduled for 4/22/26 to determine what further treatments will help Kennedi fight the cancer. Kennedi was a graduate of Munster High School, worked at the Sip in Highland and continued to go to her college classes at IU Northwest working towards her Masters in Social Work during this entire illness. Ken and Dawn have been unable to work at this time and the medical bills are starting to accumulate. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation of any amount small or large will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness, compassion and prayers. Your support means more than you can imagine. Help Kennedi fight this courageous battle!
