Our Family’s Breaking Point:

I am writing this from my daughter’s bedside in the Pediatric ICU. For the last six months, our lives have been defined by medical trauma, and we have finally reached a breaking point where we can no longer stay afloat on our own.

A Long and Painful Journey

Our nightmare began in July. What started as serious GI issues quickly spiraled into a continuous cycle of hospitalizations and specialized treatments. For months, we fought for answers as her health declined, leading to the devastating moment on November 8th when she was placed on hospice care to manage her pain.

She is a fighter, and on January 2nd, she underwent a massive surgery to remove a tumor, half of her pancreas where the tumor was, and her spleen. She is currently recovering in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) in Orlando, but the road ahead is long.

Since July, the weight of this journey has become a financial catastrophe. Between the endless trips out of town to Jacksonville to Nemours and Advent Health in Orlando to see specialists, as well as multiple hospitalizations out of town in Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the cost of being away from home, and the inability to work while caring for a critically ill child, we have fallen into crippling debt.

We are now four months behind on rent.

We are facing imminent eviction.

The medical expenses and travel costs have exhausted every resource we have.

My daughter has been fighting for her life, and we are still awaiting biopsy results to see if she needs further treatment. We know the pancreatitis will never go away, and my greatest fear is that she won't have a home to return to when she is discharged. We are asking for your help to settle our back rent and secure our housing so that I can focus entirely on her healing.
