Hi, my name is Kendra Hawkins. If you know me, you know I’ve always been someone who takes pride in my independence. But through the darkest valley of my life, God has shown me that I don’t have to carry my burdens alone. I’ve learned that being a soldier for Him means having the strength to endure, but also the humility to let others walk beside me. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an act of faith.

A difficult breakup recently led me down a path of struggle, and I turned to drinking to cope. That season resulted in alcoholic hepatitis, and I am now facing the reality of needing a liver transplant. While the diagnosis was a wake-up call, the true miracle has been the spiritual renewal I’ve found along the way. I’ve become closer to God than ever before, and I truly believe He is refining me through this fire and walking with me toward a second chance at life.

I am so grateful to be working with the transplant team at Vanderbilt University. The road ahead is intense: the surgery and recovery require me to live near the hospital for two months. During this time, my family and I need help covering rent and basic living expenses so we can keep our home while I focus on the healing God has in store for me.

My husband and I have had to set our pride aside to share this with you, but we know this is where God has us right now.
