Help a 29-Year-Old Mom of Two Fight Triple Negative Breast Cancer
At just 29 years old, our sweet friend, Kendra, has been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer with invasive mammary carcinoma. This is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that only affects 3–5% of patients. She received this life-altering diagnosis on February 11th.
She is a registered nurse. She is the kind of nurse who shows up for everyone, the one who listens deeply and genuinely cares. You can hear her laugh throughout the unit and feel her energy the second she hits the floor. She has spent her career helping others through their hardest days. Now, she is facing her own hard days ahead.
She is also a mama to two beautiful boys, ages 3 and 5. Her son has nonverbal autism and depends on her in ways that are hard to put into words. Both children are already struggling emotionally with not having their mom fully present every day, and as you can imagine, this is just the start of the journey.
Her treatment plan is intense:
• 6+ months of chemotherapy
• Surgery
• Over a year of immunotherapy
Triple negative breast cancer is fast-growing and aggressive, which means treatment must be aggressive too.
Because she works PRN as a registered nurse, she does not have benefits or short-term disability. This diagnosis means she likely won’t be able to work for an extended period of time. Her husband, Jeremy, is now the sole provider, and the financial burden of medical bills, treatments, and everyday expenses is overwhelming. This is the start of their marriage with only 5 months of wedded bliss until this diagnosis has added a big stress to their new family.
No one plans for cancer at 29.
No one plans for chemo while raising toddlers.
No one plans to fight for their life while worrying about how the bills will get paid.
We are raising money to help cover:
• Chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments
• Surgery expenses
• Medical bills
• Lost income
• Travel to appointments
• Basic household expenses during treatment
If you know her, you know her heart. She is strong, kind, funny, and the first to make others feel seen, heard, and loved. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
If you’re able to give, any amount helps. If you’re not able to donate, please share this and keep her, Jeremy, and her babies in your prayers. Whether you know her personally or are reading this about a 29-year-old mom fighting aggressive breast cancer, I ask you to please allow her one peace of mind: being enough money raised so that she doesn’t feel obligated to work full-time hours while fighting this battle.
Let’s surround this family with support so she can focus on one thing: beating cancer, getting her health back, and getting back to raising her babies and enjoying newlywed life.
