Support Ken Weichel: Vietnam Vet's Home Lost in Fire

Donation protected

Hello, we are asking for your help and generosity. We have a snow removal client, Kenneth Weichel, whose house was tragically completely burned to the ground in a massive house fire on Wednesday night around 10 pm in Fairbury, NE. Ken was able to escape without harm by the grace of God. Ken has been a lifelong resident of Fairbury. Yanka was the love of his life and was called home by God in Aug. 2024. Ken went to college here at Fairbury JR College and finished at UNL. Then he gave the ultimate sacrifice and went to serve this great country in Vietnam, where he served the honorary 1st Brigade 101st Airborne Division, also known as the "Ghost Riders." Upon returning home, he was honored with 22 medals & badges (all lost in the fire). He has been farming and doing mechanical work in and around the community for many years. For all he has done for our county and this community, we are asking for any and all donations to help restore some stability and security after this tragic loss. Let's see what kind of love and support we can share with Ken in this horrible time of need, especially at this time of year when veterans and widowers feel emotional stress and loneliness. Our father was a living Vietnam veteran who passed recently, and we want to help give back to Ken and his two children, Clancie McIntyre and Joshua Weichel. Please show your generous love and support for a deserving man who has touched us and so many others in our community.

Thank you again,
Sincerely,
Dan Helmick
