Support Ken Schiavone's Battle Against Cancer

My name is Susan Schiavone. I live in California and I have set up this fund to help my nephew, Ken Schiavone, in Maryland, who is fighting stage four cancer. All of the money collected for this account will go directly to him.
Ken lost his father to a sudden death three months ago, just after he got the news he had cancer. This was a shock for him, but he drove over an hour so he could go to the burial in spite of being very ill. Since then, things have only gotten worse.
Ken got the news that he not only has lung cancer but also pancreatic cancer--a stage four cancer situation requiring aggressive chemotherapy and treatment. His medical team is hopeful. He is currently on workers comp disability, and work-related insurance. But at the end of March, he will have to start paying the entire premiums on his own and will have to go into his retirement fund to do so. He does not qualify for Medicaid. I don’t want to see him go broke or lose his retirement fund for medical care.
Worse still, his car was recently stolen and the thieves pretty much totaled his car, and incurred three traffic tickets in the process that Ken has had to deal with. He only received low blue book value for the car and now had to buy a used car in order to take himself to chemo treatments and doctor appointments. This has put him in debt about another $10,500 for a used car and he is struggling to make car payments, living expenses, and medical insurance and any ancillary medical costs related to his cancer treatment. Just after the car theft, Ken lost one of his best friends of 30 years who was suffering from colon cancer which has caused him a lot more grief.
So, I have set up this fund to try to help defray some of these costs related to his illness and the car theft, over the next year. He is dealing with severe financial stress when he is dealing with this difficult disease and treatment. My prayers are that he will recover and put the cancer in remission! I really hope you can contribute to this fund so that some of this financial stress can be relieved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any amount can donate!
