Good morning, family and friends.

Let's talk a minute about my big brother, Ken Roebuck. Ken has been my cherished love for my whole life. When I was a little girl, he was my protector and the person I admired most. I guess you could say he was a great big brother. He never minded me tagging along. We grew up as friends and loved each other and supported each other. That still holds true to this day!

In May of last year, Ken was diagnosed with the most aggressive leukemia, AML. Needless to say, it changed his life forever. Ken is a fighter. He saddled up for the ride of his life. Weeks and weeks of chemo and harsh medications. Many nights of little sleep, yet he continued to show up and fight for life. The cancer clinic and his staff of doctors have been amazing and supportive. Ken was given an opportunity to have stem cell replacement. What does this entail exactly? We as a family only knew it was a great chance for a longer life. So they got out there and found a match. The stem cells did their job. The leukemia was in remission. How exciting! In order for a transfusion to work, the donor cells and the recipient have to become one with your cells. For Ken, this has not happened. Ken is now fighting GVHD, Graft vs host disease. That is when the donor and his cells are fighting one another. It makes you sick and fatigued and unable to eat. Ken is presently in the hospital, again fighting for his life.

Those who know me well know I am a 'I can do it by myself' kind of person. I never ask for help. Well, I guess I get it honestly. Ken is the same. This week we got a call that said all insurance will go away at the end of the month.

Today I'm asking for your help. I'm asking for you to help my big brother. Life should never have to be this hard for a human that has worked hard his whole life to end up with nothing. Would you help me show him we are here for him? From the soul of who I am, thank you and God bless!
