The family of Ken Lee’s world was turned upside down this past week when Ken suffered a devastating stroke that has left him without any movement on his right side and the inability to talk. Ken is currently in ICU at the University of Kentucky and has a long road ahead of him.
Ken was a standout basketball player for Montgomery County. His talent and skill earned him Hall of Fame honors. He carried that same talent and skill into his work as a blacktop specialist. He owns and operates Ken Lee Blacktop Sealing. Ken has always been defined by his grit, his dependability, and his handshake. Whether you know him as a tireless worker or a friend, Ken’s work ethic is unmatched.
The timing of this health crisis is particularly difficult. With spring arriving, Ken’s work season was just getting underway. Because his business relies entirely on his physical presence and hard work, he will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. His journey to recovery will be long. Ken will need intensive inpatient rehabilitation after ICU care to regain strength, mobility, and speech function.
We are reaching out today with heavy hearts to ask for your support for Ken. The path forward is filled with uncertainty. Between mounting medical bills from the ICU and the loss of household income during his peak season, the financial burden on Ken and his wife, Heather, and their family will be significant. We want to ensure that Heather can focus entirely on Ken’s healing without the crushing weight of financial stress.
How You Can Help:
We are asking for any assistance you can give to go directly toward:
• Uncovered medical expenses and hospital stays.
• Daily living expenses for the family while Ken is unable to operate his business.
• Ongoing rehabilitation and therapy costs.
No donation is too small, and every bit of support helps ease the burden. Every donation will go to his medical care, rehabilitation and expenses. If you are not able to donate at this time, please consider sharing this page with your network and keeping Ken and Heather in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for showing Ken the same loyalty and respect he has shown for years. He is a good man. It was my honor to grow up with him and play ball with him and spend so much time with his family. Please consider helping.
Thank you, Jeff Taylor
