Support Ken and Elaine on this difficult journey

Hello everyone, my name is Dana Choi, the middle granddaughter and I'm making this gofundme on behalf of my grandfather, Ken Park.

Ken is currently 74 years old and a father of 3 daughters, 1 son, and a grandpa to 3 granddaughters.

Back in 2022, Ken was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lung Cancer.

To prevent the cancer from progressing, he received Chemotherapy. After his first round, he couldn't tolerate it and had really bad side effects to it. This led to him being hospitalized and he thankfully survived.

One year later, 2023, he showed signs of Jaundice and Sepsis. For several months, he had suffered and it was life threatening. He survived this as well.

In that same moment, his Stage 2 Lung Cancer spread to his Pancreas. This had changed into Stage 4 Lung and Pancreas Cancer. Doctors said this was a really rare case. He had received chemotherapy once again. After two rounds of treatment, he was able to tolerate the chemotherapy.

After the cancer spread to his Pancreas, there was a blockage in his Bile Duct. Doctors had to do a procedure which was a stent procedure.

A few months later, doctors had to redo his stent procedure. But at that time, there were some complications. While they were doing the procedure, air went into his stomach which made him stay in the hospital once again and it was life threatening. He had survived this as well.

After this redo of the stent procedure, Ken's condition got a little bit better. His Oncologist decided to start him on Immunotherapy. After receiving two rounds, he suffered serious side effects. That resulted in them having to stop giving him immunotherapy treatment.

Unfortunately, 2024, we got devastating news that his cancer had spread to his bones. The last option of treatment was Radiation. After he received this, he's been suffering with sever pain until this day.

Currently, he has ended up being hospitalized. He's been very weak and we believe that his time is slowly coming to an end.

Not only has Ken been suffering with this pain that he doesn't deserve, but his wife, Elaine is legally blind. This has given her a really hard time as she is not able to help Ken but be by his side and have conversations with him.

Please consider donating even $5. The Park family will really appreciate any small donations made. The donations received will go towards in support of Ken and his family.

November 30, 2024:

3:25pm today, Ken took his finally breath. He took his last breath peacefully while sleeping.
All donations will now go towards his funeral.
