Help Our Son Hear the World – Cochlear Implant Surgery

Hello, my name is Claudine and I am the proud parent of a 4-year-old son, Kemal. When he was 2 or 3 years old, we noticed that his reaction to voices changed and he no longer repeated the few words he had learned. Even though he passed his hearing test before, his new tests made it clear that he can no longer hear. Doctors confirmed that Kemal has total hearing loss in both ears.He was also diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old.

We have tried hearing aids, but the doctors have now confirmed that only cochlear implants will give him the chance to hear the sounds of the world around him. What we may take for granted, he has never experienced…the sound of the voices and laughter of family and friends who love him, birds chirping, the crash of the waves at the seashore…

We have an opportunity to give our son the gift of hearing. As parents we must do everything in our power to help our children thrive. The solution is cochlear implant surgery, but the cost is prohibitive for us and unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover any of it.

We are humbly asking for help to raise $36,000 to pay for cochlear implants, surgery, and the hospital stay.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings Kemal one step closer to hearing the beautiful world around him for the first time. This in turn will help him learn to speak and communicate with everyone.
