Help Kelsi Fight Liver Disease & Ascites

In April, our dear friend Kelsi’s life took an unexpected turn. What began as a trip to the emergency room for a severe infection turned out to be hepatitis A. While recovering, Kelsi struggled and continued to drink alcohol, which unfortunately made her condition more complicated and contributed to the development of Peripheral Polyneuropathy—a disorder where multiple nerves are damaged, causing weakness, numbness, and pain throughout her body. This alone kept her out of work for weeks.

But things didn’t stop there. Since April, Kelsi has been to the ER more than 10 times. In August, her diagnosis changed drastically: liver cirrhosis, which has now caused ascites.

“Ascites is a serious complication where fluid builds up in the abdomen, causing extreme swelling, severe pain, and difficulty breathing or moving.”

Kelsi’s stomach has become so distended it resembles a third-trimester pregnancy. She has already undergone multiple painful procedures to drain the fluid, yet it continues to return. Her eyes have started turning yellow, and the day-to-day toll on her body is immense.

Through all of this, Kelsi’s greatest motivation is her two beautiful children, Dylan and Devyn, whom she loves with all her heart. She wants nothing more than to keep being the strong, loving mother they need, even while her own health is failing.

Because of this illness, Kelsi has been forced to completely stop working. She faces mounting medical bills on top of basic living expenses like housing, food, and caring for her children.

Kelsi has a long and difficult road ahead, but with the help of her community, we can ease her burden and help her focus on getting the treatment she desperately needs.

How you can help:
• Donate what you can—no amount is too small.
• Share Kelsi’s story to spread awareness.
• Keep her and her children in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this journey.

Kelsi is a fighter, and she’s fighting not just for herself, but for Dylan and Devyn. With your support, we can give her the resources and hope she needs to move forward toward healing.

Thank you for standing beside her.
