My name is Kelsey Hutchinson and in 2020 I had a Grade 2 astrocytoma in my frontal lobe. The craniotomy was successful and so far we do not have any recurrence. Over the past few months I have deteriorated rather abruptly with little to no answers from my current healthcare providers. I have epilepsy from the surgery and my previous neurologist is thinking that seizures have caused possible brain damage resulting in the loss of sensation in my left side and numerous other symptoms. I am scheduled to be in Nashville,TN at Vanderbilt Neurosurgery Tuesday August 26 at 7:45 am.

I am not sure how this is going to play out. I’m going in blind and am unsure if I will be evaluated and do outpatient testing or if they will admit me.

At this point we just need enough to cover a hotel for the night before and travel expenses.

We cannot risk oversleeping or being caught in traffic. If I miss this appointment the next available that they have is in March of 2026.

I have also been in contact with Mayo Clinic and they are reviewing my medical records as well. If we do not get answers at Vanderbilt we are going to proceed onward to Rochester, Minnesota. This is to be determined after Tuesday!
