Help Kelsey Wright after tragic head on collision

Hello. My name is Stacey Driver and I set up this fundraiser to help my cousin, Kelsey Wright who was involved in a severe car accident on March 12, 2024. She was hit head on while driving in her own lane of traffic.

She has endured so much pain and suffering already and has such a long road ahead. She is still currently wheelchair bound and requiring 24 hour care due to her extensive injuries. I ask for your prayers, to donate if you can, and please pass her story along to anyone and everyone. Together, we can all make a difference.

After the accident, she was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in critical condition where she was treated in the trauma ICU for an extensive list of injuries to include hemorrhagic shock, small intestine perforation, multiple serosal injuries to the colon, partial thickness pancreatic head injury, Morel-Lavalle injury to the lower abdomen, mesenteric hematoma of the sigmoid colon, fractured humerus, fractured acromion, fractured tibia, fractured fibula, shattered calcaneus, multiple rib fractures, and lung contusions.

Over the 27 day she was in the ICU trauma unit at Vanderbilt, she underwent several surgeries to include: a small bowel resection, an extended right colectomy, placement of drains, open reduction and internal fixation of right humerus, spanning external fixation of right tibial pilon fracture and fibular shaft fracture, closed reduction and spanning external fixation of calcaneus fracture, open reduction and internal fixation of tibia/fibula fractures, and open reduction and internal fixation of calcaneus.

Kelsey has a very long road ahead of her with these injuries and after working so hard to build a career for herself, it is unknown when she will be able to return to work.

To add to this tragedy, Kelsey was set to marry the love of her life, Nathan on May 4th. Due to her severe injuries, their wedding and honeymoon had to be canceled.
