Sometimes life doesn’t go the way a senior year is supposed to. Since December, Kelsey has been living with us and doing everything she can to still show up, keep her grades up, lead the cheer team, and finish her senior year the way she deserves. She’s been working at RAOK, house sitting, dog sitting—doing all the right things and not letting her circumstances define her.
If you know Kelsey, you love her. Everyone does. She’s the kind of girl who is kind, respectful, hardworking, and just good to her core. She’s also an incredible student—7th in her class, a cheer captain, and someone who has worked so hard for her future. But behind the scenes, it hasn’t been easy. All the “normal” senior things we take for granted—senior pictures, cap & gown, prom, graduation, even just celebrating this season—have all fallen on her (and us, and some amazing friends) to figure out. She has no financial support for college, but she’s still pushing forward with plans to attend school in Tallahassee and build a life for herself.
On top of that, after graduation she will lose access to her vehicle and phone, which makes getting to work, school, and just day-to-day life a real challenge. And yet, she keeps going. No excuses. No quitting. We’re so proud of her, but we also know she can’t do this part alone. Funds raised will help cover transportation, phone, college costs, housing at college, and college books, ensuring Kelsey can finish her senior year strong and take her next steps toward college. If you’ve ever loved her, cheered for her, or just believe in helping someone who’s trying to do the right thing—this is one of those moments. Every little bit helps. And if you can’t give, sharing means just as much.
