Support Kelsey and Blake's IVF Journey

Donation protected
Hello, I have started this GoFundMe for my daughter Kelsey, and son-in-law, Blake. They are getting ready to begin their journey with IVF treatment in the next few weeks. With their permission, this GoFundMe was created with hope that our friends and family who wish to donate toward their journey can do so.

We all will be very appreciative for any donations, but mainly will be asking for PRAYERS. Please pray for God's touch on this treatment and that it may work in their favor.

I will attach Kelsey and Blake’s story below.

Thank you again for helping toward our goal of Baby Puckett

Our story:
It all begins on October 29th, 2016. We were married in our hometown with our closest friends and family in attendance. We were so eager, and excited at the thought of starting a family. 19 and 21 was young, but we knew we were meant to be parents. Fast forward a few years, we still had not gotten pregnant. With my PCOS diagnosis in mind, we decided to make an appointment with our regular OBGYN.

From 2017-2018, we had several medicated cycles using Letrozole and Clomid. During that time, we also had testing done such as an HSG x-ray and also supplemented our treatment with HCG injections. Our doctor was hopeful that each time would be the time that it worked! Unfortunately none of those cycles worked. It was then recommended to us that I try to lose weight before continuing with treatments since my PCOS was so severe. We took some time off from “trying” and hoped it would just happen when it was meant to. During this time we also explored avenues for weight loss.

In January of 2021, I had the gastric sleeve surgery. It was recommended to wait before trying to become pregnant after surgery for at least a year. So we waited. Just about all of 2022 consisted of waiting for the time to happen when “it was supposed to”. Going into 2023, we went to a doctor in a neighboring city that told us that he had confidence that doing an IUI would work the first time for us. We were so very hopeful that the end was in sight for us and that this treatment would work.

In March 2023, we went for the IUI, but it did not take. We took some time off once again from trying anything.

In December of 2023, we saw a fertility specialist in Chattanooga whom suggested we try IUI one last time before moving on to IVF. We did all of the medications and followed protocols, went for ultrasounds and my body never got the point of being able to go through with the IUI as it had been “too long” between cycles. I got very discouraged after this and decided to take some time off because it was physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting at this point.

In May of 2024, we made a consult appointment with a fertility specialist in Atlanta. We were very pleased and optimistic from our very first appointment with our doctor. We both had lab work done, and even genetic testing. The doctor confirmed with us that with my PCOS being so severe, it is likely that I would have never gotten pregnant on my own, and that doing IVF is our only option at this point. I then began taking metformin, and have since started a short course of birth control. We begin stimulation medications(injections) on 08/22/2024. Shortly after that, we will go for the egg retrieval. We are sending our embryos for genetic testing to make sure we transfer the most viable embryo and have the best potential outcome.

With all of this being said, IVF is not a cheap treatment as most know. Our treatment regimen is going to be anywhere from $25,000-$30,000+ depending on several factors.

We are so thankful for any, and everyone who is willing to donate toward our journey.

But most of all, we kindly ask for prayers during this time. Pray for God to allow this treatment to work for us. Pray for no complications. Pray for strength and understanding as this is not an easy journey, but one we are so graciously willing to make to welcome baby Puckett❣️
