Support Kelly's Legal Battle for Her Son

Hello,

My name is Kelly Acton, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support in a difficult and urgent legal battle for the safety and well-being of my amazing, loving, caring, talented, handsome son who is now 8 years old. He has been the victim of abuse at the hands of his father, who was charged, pled, and found guilty of FELONY torture and abuse of a child 6 and under in October 2022.

Unfortunately, navigating the legal system has proven to be a complicated and costly process. Being a single mom on disability, there are no additional funds. I have maxed out every credit card, family member, and sold everything I have of worth. I am in desperate need of funds to secure experienced legal representation and an expert witness who can testify to the abuse my son has suffered. Without these resources, it has already been proven impossible to ensure that my son's voice is heard and that he is protected from the trauma he's endured. I have contacted every agency, department, person, and then some to locate any resource available, but have been rejected due to the complexity of the case or they are not able to help due to it now being a civil case.

In high-conflict custody cases like ours, having a skilled attorney and expert witnesses is crucial. They will help to ensure that the abuse is properly documented, all information regarding the case is factual, in the best interest of my son and that my son's safety is the top priority. Watching my son suffer daily with anxiety, nightmares, begging me to make this stop is horrible. The physical abuse may have ended at the time of his abuser's arrest, but the mental abuse has not stopped. I have watched my son work so hard to learn how to regulate his emotions, handle the CPTSD, trauma-induced anxiety, and self-worth issues that many children suffer with daily due to the abuse they endured.
