Supporting Kelly Through Unimaginable Loss & Medical Hardship

Hi everyone my name is Gabrielle, I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend Kelly, who has faced more hardship in the past years than anyone ever should, yet she continues to show incredible strength, kindness, and grace.

In 2006, Kelly’s life was forever changed when her husband was tragically killed after being struck by a car while walking as a pedestrian. His death was sudden and devastating, and there was no life insurance. Kelly was left to navigate grief, loss, and financial survival on her own.

Fast forward to recent years, and the challenges have only continued. In 2025, Kelly underwent two major eye surgeries for a detached retina, both in the same eye, just three months apart. She came dangerously close to losing her vision entirely.

Only six months later, Kelly received another life altering blow: a cancer diagnosis. On December 12, 2025, she was diagnosed with invasive melanoma. As she began this fight, she discovered that her health insurance barely covers the care she needs. Many doctor visits, treatments, and medications come largely out of pocket.

At the same time, Kelly is a devoted dog lover and caregiver to her senior dog, her constant companion through everything. Sadly, her dog is now battling serious kidney and liver issues, and the veterinary bills are significant, adding yet another layer of stress while Kelly herself is undergoing cancer treatment.

Between rising rent, mounting bills, uncovered medical expenses, and vet costs, Kelly is being pushed to the brink financially, through no fault of her own.
