Hello, my name is Kelly Merino, and I am reaching out to ask for your support for my daughter, who has been accepted into the highly competitive UC COSMOS summer program. This prestigious 4-week residential program will take place at University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where she will live on campus and participate in a specialized cluster titled “Engineering Design and Control of Kinetic Sculptures.”

This hands-on program focuses on engineering and robotics, giving her access to advanced materials, tools, and mentorship opportunities that are not readily available in the Imperial Valley. It is an incredible opportunity for her to grow academically and pursue her passion for STEM.

My daughter is currently a junior at Imperial High School, where she has maintained an 4.20 weighted GPA. She is deeply committed to her education and personal growth, balancing rigorous Advanced Placement coursework while actively participating in band—where she plays two instruments—as well as cross country, track, and other school activities. Her dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm truly set her apart.

As parents, we have already contributed $1,885 toward this opportunity. We are seeking support to help cover the remaining $4,500 needed for tuition, housing, and program expenses.
